The Fish Alcester reopens after a £320,000 refurbishment by Star Pubs, promising enhanced dining and a cozy atmosphere.

The Honeybourne Pub Company now runs it and also runs The Thatched Tavern. Amy Mathias thinks The Fish will be a top spot, perfect for food and drinks all year.
She says The Fish suits any season now, allowing guests to relax by the fire or in the garden. They focused on great food and a friendly welcome, aided by Chef Matthew Young and Carl Hathaway.
They plan a fancier menu in the restaurant while still serving classic pub food. Locals can enjoy these in the bar and garden. The pub created twelve new local jobs.
They use local, eco-friendly suppliers, such as David Moore Butchers and Indigo Valley. The pub aims to be carbon neutral and minimize waste.
The pub has a more luxurious feel now with more character and a cozy vibe, making it great in both winter and summer. They added new lighting and decor everywhere.
New open shelves separate the bar and divide the dining areas. The dining area has exposed beams, while pendant lights hang over the bar, where you will find leather chairs.
The bar has new floral wallpaper, art, and floor tiles. They added a new TV and back bar.
Star Pubs’ Aubrey Taylor said it needed investment and the update matches their high standards. It aligns with food and drink quality too, similar to The Thatched Tavern.
He believes The Fish will attract people all year, considering its riverside spot and great food. He thinks The Honeybourne team will succeed and wishes them the best of luck.
The exterior got a new oak entrance, redecoration, and new signs. They improved the car park lighting, and disabled access and baby changing areas exist there. Existing restrooms were also upgraded.
They now have more wines on the menu, and new technology improves beer and cider. Look for live music monthly and Sunday quizzes at The Fish.
The pub opens at 11:30 AM with food service from 12 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. On Sunday, food hours run from 12 PM to 4:30 PM.
