Morays The Northern Scot wins Newspaper of the Year. Awards praised trusted voice and well presented content.

Daniel Forsyth won Photographer of the Year, marking his second time winning this award. Lewis McBlane became Reporter of the Year. The awards took place at the Kingsmills Hotel.
McBlane’s writing was called “classy,” and he wrote about local issues. His stories included coverage of an A96 timetable drop and a “Save Our Surgeries” issue.
Forsyth is a recognizable face at The Scot and won due to a consistent performance. One photo, showing Sophie enjoying a dram, particularly caught the judges’ attention.
The Inverness Courier won Website of the Year. Val Sweeney won Feature Writer of the Year, and Annabelle Gauntlett won Young Reporter of the Year.
Jackie O’Brien received the Barron Trophy. Fios won Community Newspaper of the Year. Other awards also went to different journalists.
The Press Ball raised nearly £125,000. The money stays in the Highlands and Islands and supports local communities and charities.
