The Wickets in Taunton has reopened as Blue Cactus with a remodeled interior and updated menu.
Blue Cactus planned to open February 25th at 10 a.m. Joules and Wez Bennett are the new owners. They remodeled the inside of the business, incorporating updates like new furniture, paint, and cacti prints for decoration.
The owners also changed the opening hours. Previously, it was open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., when Emily and Barbs owned it.
Wez said the new décor feels like home and wants customers to feel comfortable. He plans more changes to the menu with the seasons, with fresh juices and new coffees coming soon. They will replace the old Wickets sign.
They removed full English breakfasts from the menu, now offering items like smoked salmon focaccia. Some favorites, like paninis, are still available.
The Bennetts understand the closure was difficult, as they received many customer inquiries. Joules hopes the changes boost customer service. Blue Cactus now opens 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
