Ian Berry, 61, a BT engineer from Thetford, died at home on his first day back to work after surgery. Inquest held.

An inquest looked into his death. He was supposed to go back to work that morning, his first day in six months. The court heard he was a telecommunications engineer. He had surgery to remove a cyst back in March, which kept him from working.
His recovery took longer than expected, and he grew tired of doctor visits. This was shared at the Norfolk Coroner’s Court.
His partner read a statement in court explaining she woke up to his text message. He wrote that he hated his job and did not want to work.
The message worried her a lot. She called the police right away, asking them to check on him before she rushed to his house.
She arrived and found him deceased. Mr. Berry had ended his own life, a tragic discovery for her.
Jacqueline Lake, a senior coroner, gave a narrative conclusion about the case, stating he took his own life. His intentions remained unclear. She stated that he did the act, and cocaine was in his system. Because of this, she was unsure of his intent and could not say for sure.
