Torbay’s Mayor Mark Spacagna Reflects on Fundraising Year

Mark Spacagna finished his year as Torbay’s Civic Mayor. He looks back on his time in the role. He introduced new mayoral cadets during his term. He celebrated the Royal Naval Association’s 80th year. Mark also raised money for two worthy causes.

He supported Rowcroft Hospice and the League of Friends. Mark presented them each with £3,118. His total fundraising reached £6,236. Both charities expressed deep gratitude for his support.

Spacagna called his time as mayor a privilege. He never expected to hold the position. He found working with local charities very rewarding. Introducing the Mayoral Cadets was a key achievement, and this initiative will continue in the future too.

He feels it is key to honor Cadet Forces’ contributions. Some cadets now serve full-time in the Armed Forces, and Mark now serves as Armed Forces champion for Torbay. He will analyze survey data regarding the Armed Forces. He hopes to create positive change for them soon. The Mayoral Cadets are an early result.
