Torfaen Council releases list of roads where 20mph zones will be removed following feedback and review.

Torfaen Council shared a list of roads where they will remove the 20mph speed limit. Specific zones for the limit are becoming unnecessary as the default 20mph limit already covers these areas.
The affected roads will generally have a 20mph limit, though some roads might have a different speed limit assigned later on. The following roads are impacted by these changes: Pentre Lane changes for 416m from Newport Road, and Ty Coch Close changes for 118m from Pentre Lane.
Also, Blackbirds Close, The Highway, and East Road are affected, along with Fields Road, The Close, and South Road. More roads are included in the changes like Abbey Green, Plas Ty-Coch, Greenwillows, and Croeswen.
Plas Cwrt and Court Farm Road are changing, along with Brangwyn Avenue, Gainsborough Close, and Hogarth Close. Court Farm Close is also changing, along with Oakfield Grange.
Greenmeadow Way changes for 767m from Henllys Way, also Melbourne Court, including cul-de-sacs, Canberra Close and Farlow Walk are affected. Penywuan Road (Western Arm) changes from Burns Lane.
Byron Place and Burns Lane are also included, with Burns Lane changing from Shakespeare Road to Penywuan Road. Also affected are Coleridge Green and Shelley Green, along with Shakespeare Road, Milton Close, and Wordsworth Close.
Keats Close and Greenmeadow Close are also on the list, with Penywuan Road (Eastern Arm) changing 193m from Greenmeadow Way. Oakdale Path and Salisbury Court are impacted, and Ty Canol Way changes for 250m from Henllys Way.
Finally, Llanyrafon Way completes the list of roads. These speed limit changes aim to manage traffic better and ensure safety in the area.
The council consulted with the police before deciding. This discussion with the police helped determine the new rules.
