Dog fouling remains a local issue due to irresponsible pet owners. More bins and possible fines could improve the situation.

This issue occurs on busy streets where owners think they won’t get caught. Littering, which also stems from laziness, is similar. People expect others to clean up after them, which is a bad attitude. Clean up your own mess.
Most dog owners act responsibly and dislike seeing others break rules. Yet, some streets remain filled with dog mess because some owners don’t bother to clean it.
One person may repeatedly cause problems, much like with fly-tipping. Fines might deter some of those individuals. More dog waste bins are needed, especially on main roads and popular routes. Dog owners need places to dispose of waste and thus, need bins along their commonly walked routes. I haven’t seen many bins on main roads.
Our town is cleaner than before and there’s less dog mess now. When I was a child, there was far more mess. People who say otherwise likely don’t walk around town. A generation now takes pride in their neighborhoods.
