Hey, listen to this. They put in more traffic lights! These are on a main road in Bury St Edmunds. Roadwork already makes things chaotic.

This new work started today. It’s on Sicklesmere Road near Southgate Green roundabout. These lights control traffic entering the roundabout.

The work installs high voltage electricity. It will last until March 18. Parts of the road will be affected. About 1,030 meters of sidewalk closes. Closures start at Southgate Green roundabout.

Other roadwork causes problems too. This is further along Sicklesmere Road toward Great Whelnetham. It started last week and causes delays. Hopkins Homes builds a new roundabout.

This will serve the Abbots Vale housing area. Expect traffic controls through the week. Full road closures are planned for seven weekends. These go until May 5.

The weekend closure already happened. It created problems since drivers used back roads. People avoided the construction the best they could.

More weekend closures are planned. They are from 8 PM Fridays to 5 AM Mondays. The dates span from March 7 to May 5. Mark your calendar if you drive there!
