A train conductor is hailed a hero for his quick thinking and kindness when a baby experienced a medical emergency onboard.

James Hallett, the train conductor, helped the worried parents right away. He calmed the couple and gave them bandages for the leak. James also provided a foil blanket to keep the baby warm.
The parents then called Leeds Children’s Hospital, needing Austin to get treatment quickly. Jane said James did not need to help them, and she felt so grateful that he did, adding that he couldn’t have done more. The parents panicked, and the baby cried, but James calmed them to call and quickly got the first aid kit.
The train stopped at Leeds station, and the couple took Austin to the hospital. Austin had several procedures done and is now getting better at home. In gratitude, Jane thanked James and nominated him for an award. She said Austin is healing well and that James’ quick help mattered, adding that she wanted to show him her thanks because chocolates weren’t enough.
Kerry Peters, who with Northern, said they are proud of James. He helped the family in a hard time, and she’s happy Austin got help and is now getting better at home with family.
