Train Station Upgrades Considered for Five Chorley Areas

They want to make train travel better. These upgrades will also boost eco-friendly travel. Rail links to Manchester and Preston might improve, and places like Adlington, Buckshaw Parkway station, Chorley, Croston, and Euxton could see changes within the next few years.

The council will study travel habits soon, checking train demand and exploring ways to improve connections. This will support the local economy’s needs. They might make some station parking bigger, and more park and bike spots are possible, while new cycle paths could also appear.

Lancashire County Council started this study, supported by Chorley Council and stakeholders in rail. A council member said transport access matters, enabling people to reach destinations easily. The council wants routes that are eco-friendly, ensuring sustainability for the future.

They are seeking similar upgrades elsewhere to help growth and access for people. Another councillor said they were pleased to help partners study future plans. These plans could improve station facilities in Chorley, leading to better connections and improved sustainability.
