Renovation plans adjust to enhance space. Studios relocate, walls come down, and ceiling fixes occur.

The council has now approved changes to prior plans. They intend to remove some walls to create an open office area. The original plan involved artist studios for the second floor.
However, the space was not suitable for studios due to accessibility issues. The studios will now move, with the old studio space becoming an office. This requires the removal of some walls.
These walls include modern additions, though some date back to 1887. Removing them creates an open space suitable for a practical office. This change ensures the room’s long-term upkeep and preserves the building’s design.
The Judge’s Room, located on the ground floor, also needs adjustments. Two sections were added around its ceiling edges, leading to some uneven plaster details.
A new ceiling section will be installed to cover certain plaster details, while the central details will remain visible. This change is reversible, allowing for the restoration of the original features.
Officials believe the changes are practical and utilize the building’s resources well. The project creates a valuable community asset and helps secure the building’s future, putting it in good shape through renovation.
Wiltshire Council envisions Trowbridge Town Hall as a great venue. It will host events and can hold 500 people for concerts. Renovation work is nearing completion.
