Two sisters in Kidderminster are distressed after TruGym’s sudden closure, claiming they are owed wages.

Maddison, who is nineteen, said they had little notice. She worked as a receptionist and cleaner, and worries about getting paid at all. The gym says they regret closing, but she cannot reach anyone to ask about her money.
Mia is only seventeen. She is also angry about losing her job so fast and is missing her December wages that were due last month. She cleaned at the gym, and finding a new job will be tough for her.
Their parents are furious, too. Jason and Constance Smith are very mad because the girls are owed about £1000 each. This happened right after Christmas, making it hard for the girls to find work, they said.
A former gym member is also upset he hasn’t gotten a refund yet. His membership was prepaid and should have lasted until April 2025. He contacted them in December after paying about £300 upfront.
TruGym says those with memberships should email them. A new gym, HYPR Fitness, will open there. TruGym said they were sorry for the closure and thanked their Kidderminster team. TruGym has been contacted for a response.
