A man from Chitterne died in Arnhem, 1944. He died during a parachute raid, but his name isn’t on Chitterne’s war memorial. People want to add his name now.

They need permission from a relative first. Someone is trying to find living relatives, but they haven’t had any luck yet. The hope is that someone knows the family.

He was born in New Cross, London, and he married Lily Emily Fagg. She moved to Chitterne in the 1920s, escaping London’s smog at the time.

They had two kids, William and Barbara. Barbara later became Mrs. Savage. After her husband died, Lily remarried; her second husband was Albert Edward James Kitley. He was a prisoner of war in Changi Camp who worked on the Burma Railway during that time.

Lily and Albert then had a son named John in 1949. Lily later lived in Saint Johns Hospital in Heytsbury.

The goal is to find a Stacey or Kitley relative. They can hopefully provide a letter of permission, which would allow them to add the man’s name.
