A new event starts February 23rd. It’s at the All Saints Centre, located on Springfield Road in Uplands. The event happens monthly and aims to build community spirit.

The first event focuses on Uplands history with activities for all ages. They’ll also show old photos of Uplands. The event runs from 2 PM to 4 PM. You can bring your old Uplands photos and share them.

The All Saints Centre is a Victorian building owned by All Saints church. It used to be a school, later becoming a community center, then a daycare for older people. The Grove educational project uses it now.

Lucy Thwaite, from the Uplands Community Hub team, discussed the new event. They already have an event at Grange View, and this second location expands their reach.

The All Saints Centre is a good place for people to gather and share stories. The event should significantly strengthen community ties.

The event is free to attend. The theme is “My Home” for crafts, and there will be a kids’ quiz about the area. Tea and snacks will be offered, with a pay-what-you-can system for refreshments.

Megan Sheer, also on the hub team, believes the event will interest residents, old and new. They hope many people join in, starting a new chapter for Uplands.
