Officials asked everyone nearby to shut their windows. The fire was at a housing unit, right across from the stadium, which holds over 74,000 people. The property suffered major damage in the fire.

Firefighters told everyone to avoid the area. The fire was on Fitzhamon Embankment, in Riverside, near the city center. Smoke drifted really far, reaching Cardiff Bay.

The fire started around midnight. Luckily, no one got hurt, but the building, including the roof, was badly damaged. Fire crews controlled the fire finally and will check the site again to investigate what caused it.

Someone staying at a hotel noticed red and blue lights, initially thinking it was a police matter, before seeing the fire from the river. Another person smelled smoke at 2 AM, even with closed windows.

A Cardiff resident smelled a lot of thick smoke drifting all over Cardiff, told people to close windows, and suggested using air purifiers.
