The council plans events for LGBT Plus History Month. It highlights diversity, respect, and community contributions.

Next year, in 2025, the theme is activism, focusing on social change. The theme recognizes LGBT+ activists who helped shape our world.
Councillor Ruba Sivagnanam spoke about the event, stating that the council will participate. This shows their commitment to diversity, as they want to understand and respect everyone.
The month is important because it shines a light on the LGBT+ past. We learn about their struggles, achievements, and contributions.
The organizers of LGBT+ History Month pick five LGBT+ figures. These individuals helped change society through their work, spanning many centuries.
These figures impacted different areas, advancing women’s rights and helping the environment. They also worked on housing, nuclear disarmament, preserved heritage, and abolished slavery, along with immigration and other causes.
For 2025, organizers chose five figures: Octavia Hill, Ivor Cummings, Annie Kenney, Charlie Kiss, and Olaudah Equiano.
The council’s participation shows their support for diversity and the LGBT+ community, recognizing their contributions. They think the month is a great platform to highlight LGBT+ struggles and successes. This helps promote acceptance in society by allowing people to gain a better understanding of them.
