Hey, something happened at Fountains Abbey. It’s near Ripon, you know? Vandals struck late Sunday night, and police need your help finding them.

The vandalism occurred around 11:30 PM on February 16th. They painted graffiti on both the abbey and St Mary’s Church. This site holds Grade I listed status.

The oil-based paint will likely cause big problems; it’s stuck on medieval plasterwork. Police hope to ID a man from CCTV who might know something helpful.

Sergeant Danny Copperwheat is on the case and says this vandalism is awful. Police won’t stand for attacks like this and will work hard to find the culprits.

Check out the CCTV images police released. Do you recognize that guy? He could have vital information, and police want to hear from anyone who knows anything.
