The Roebuck Inn, a family-run pub in Drayton near Banbury, will close this month after the current managers step down.
Charlotte and Graham Prew manage the pub. They started back in April 2024. The pub used to be called ‘The Buck.’ It was built way back in 1602.
Mrs. Prew said someone else will own it. However, the deal is not finalized yet. They are ending their time running the pub. They want to focus on their family now. Family is very important to them, she said.
It really takes a lot to run a pub. Last June, a dog walk started at the Roebuck Inn. Their whole family helped run the business, too. Their son was the general manager there. His girlfriend managed the food and drinks. She also worked as the chef.
Their daughter created their graphics. Their youngest son worked part-time. He worked at the bar and as their photographer.
The Roebuck Inn put out a statement. They said they were very sad about it. They will stop running the Roebuck Inn after February 28. They thanked everyone for their support over time.
They made awesome friends. They said all good things must end. They have many great memories. They regret nothing at all.
A celebration will occur soon. It will be Friday, January 21, from 6 p.m.
