Violent Abuser Jailed 5 Years for Brutal Attack on Partner

Grant Henry is in jail now, for five years. He hurt his partner badly. A judge called him dangerous. Henry controlled her during their relationship. This began in February 2023. It ended around August 2024. He always knew where she was.

Henry even checked her phone. He told her what to wear, and this got worse over time. He broke into her house once and attacked her there. This happened out of jealousy.

One day, they went out together. Afterwards, he attacked her again, punching, kicking, and strangling her. She tried to call the police then, and police officers came to her house, arresting Henry at that time. Later, he got released on bail.

Henry wasn’t supposed to contact her, but he didn’t listen to the court. He sent many threatening messages, along with voicemails and emails. He kept showing up at her house and threatened her if she told police things.

On August 27, his abuse went further. He punched her really hard then, breaking her jaw. She needed surgery afterward. The victim then told a police officer, and Henry was arrested again soon after.

The court sentenced Henry on Friday at Cambridge Crown Court. He admitted to his controlling behavior and to hurting her, but claimed he didn’t mean to cause serious harm. The judge also issued a protection order, and this order lasts forever.
