Swindon’s Vue Cinema reopens after renovations. Includes self-service, recliner seats for an enhanced movie experience.

The Swindon location now features a new self-service system, the first of its kind for Vue in the UK. This system, called “Vue Your Way,” allows customers to scan tickets and build custom snack combos at self-checkout stations. Team members are available to provide assistance if needed.
The renovated cinema boasts reclining leather seats, with some upgraded to ‘Ultra Lux’ seats offering extra space for storing food, drinks, and belongings. In addition to the enhanced seating, the cinema also features state-of-the-art laser projection and Dolby sound technology.
The cinema officially reopened on February 13, with Vue CEO Tim Richards, Swindon’s Marina Strinkovsky, and General Manager Kasia Burczak in attendance. Together, they participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the reopening.
Richards highlighted the unveiling of Vue Swindon as a landmark moment in launching the next generation of big screen entertainment. He expressed optimism about the industry’s growth and emphasized Vue’s commitment to investing in its cinemas’ future to deliver the best possible big screen experience.
Councillor Strinkovsky expressed her satisfaction with Vue’s investment, noting that it will significantly improve the cinema experience for Swindon residents. She acknowledged the community’s concerns following the cinema’s closure in 2023 and welcomed Vue’s takeover, providing Swindon residents with greater movie-going opportunities.
The cinema commenced showing new films on February 14. For movie listings, showtimes, and ticket prices, visit myvue.com/Swindon.
