The West Street Waitrose is getting a multi million pound upgrade including John Lewis items and Sushi Daily.

The store will stay open during the work, which should take about eight weeks. They will do the renovations in stages. A Sushi Daily counter is coming to the store, and this new sushi spot should create some new jobs.
They are adding some John Lewis items to the store; gifts and homeware will be available. There is also a plan for John Lewis click and collect, which improves collections at a new entrance.
The meat and fish counter will get an upgrade, and more self-service checkouts are going in. Furthermore, they are replacing the fridges and freezers, which should make the store use less energy.
The store is marking 16 years this spring. The branch manager spoke about the investment and sees this as a commitment to Bridport. He has confidence in the town’s future.
He said they will lessen disruption whenever possible. They want to stay open for their customers. Exciting changes are on the way.
Waitrose asked Dorset Council for new signs. The public can comment until the end of February, as it relates to recent planning proposals.
