Locals wanted a lower speed limit after a crash. Officials cite cost and cause of incident as reasons to refuse.

Sadly, they won’t lower it. Meeting notes say speeding wasn’t the cause, and the change would cost too much money. The car crash damaged a nearby building.
Apparently, older people got confused and pressed the wrong pedal, causing the crash. So, speed wasn’t the problem. A study on lowering the limit would be costly. It could cost thousands of pounds, even, and they think it wouldn’t stop reckless drivers.
The crash happened on High Street at 4:35 pm on September 5. Firefighters freed the driver and three others, using special rescue tools for this.
Nobody got seriously hurt, thankfully. An ambulance and paramedics went to the scene. The car had rolled onto its side in the street.
A local resident thinks traffic is often heavy. The village’s shrine brings many visitors each year. Pedestrians were nearby during the crash, but luckily, they were not hurt.
The road closed for about two hours. It reopened around 6:30 pm after they cleared everything.
