A 32 year old Sheffield woman was arrested after stealing a purse in Warrington. She was caught on a train to Sheffield.

The person withdrew cash from a bank, Nationwide on Sankey Street. They took out about £400, then went shopping. A woman watched them in the bank and followed them without them knowing. She saw them get the money.
The woman stole their purse in the shop while the victim was distracted, and then she took off running. Cops learned she ran to the train station, Warrington Central. She got on a train going to Sheffield.
Warrington police told the transport police. Transport police in Sheffield arrested her when she got off the train. Officers seized the stolen money too. Warrington cops went to Yorkshire and brought back both the cash and the woman.
The woman is thirty-two and from Sheffield. She is still in custody and helping the police with questions. An inspector spoke about the arrest, mentioning time spent on similar crimes and police studying thieves targeting vulnerable people.
