Prolific thief Leon Sherratt is jailed for 20 weeks after admitting to theft, drug possession, and breaching a court order.

Police got a call on February 21st about a disturbance at a house. Officers arrived and found Sherratt with a woman. Police searched him at that location. He had amphetamine, a class B drug.
Also, he possessed two bank cards. These cards did not bear his name. This broke his criminal behavior order, which the court put in place before. Sherratt’s record is not good.
This order limits his dishonest acts and anti-social offences, too. He can’t enter west Warrington at night between 8 PM and 8 AM. He can’t wear head or face coverings when near houses in Cheshire, with exceptions for his and his family’s homes.
It also applies to Cheshire businesses, including paths, driveways, and stores. Sherratt went to jail last October for stealing a dark blue waterproof coat. Some car equipment also went missing, including a charging lead and some cash. He wore a face covering then.
The courts gave him chances before. He got a community order last July, when his home was a drug dealing place. Police arrested him for his latest crimes.
He faced charges for two counts of theft, breaking his criminal behavior order, and possessing amphetamine. He appeared in court on Saturday. Sherratt admitted he did all the offenses.
The court sentenced him to 20 weeks in jail and he must pay £154 in court costs. He lives on Orange Grove in Padgate. PC Andy Schofield made a statement after the hearing, calling Sherratt a repeat offender.
Schofield is happy he is back in jail again for stealing from cars during his spree. Intelligence from the community helped the team quickly find Sherratt. Now, he is paying for his crimes, something Schofield welcomes.
