Legal Expert discovered this new data by checking data from late 2021 to late 2024. The police arrested 3,160 drink-drivers during this time, with about 80 percent of those arrests leading to charges.
Warrington had the most drink-driving arrests, with 179 arrests there last year, while Chester had 153 arrests recorded. Macclesfield had 120 arrests documented, and Northwich saw 107 arrests made.
People aged 26-35 were most often arrested, making up 28 percent of the arrests last year. People aged 36-45 were the next largest group arrested, accounting for 29 percent.
