Residents may see schedule shifts as new £8m Hardley depot opens. Totton, Lyndhurst, & Hythe could be affected.

The council built this new site itself on Hardley industrial estate. This replaces the Claymeadow depot that was in Totton.
The council first planned to spend £5.5 million, but building costs rose higher. They approved over £8 million finally, and it has offices, a workshop, and storage.
The new site stores refuse vehicles, and recycling trucks park there too. Ground maintenance uses the depot, and street cleaning vehicles will be based there. Pest control and tree teams will also operate from it.
Totton, Lyndhurst, and Hythe may see changes, and nearby areas could also be affected. Collection days stay the same, but crews might arrive at different times.
Don’t report missed collections too soon; wait until 5 pm the next day. This allows time for adjustments, and wait until noon the next day for garden waste. The depot opens Monday.
