Councilors are advised to reject the HMO conversion of industrial units citing substandard housing and reduced business space.

The Three Rivers councilors could approve something. Units six and eight might change. Century Court on Tolpits Lane is the place.
The units would become two HMOs. Each HMO would have four bedrooms. Up to eight people could live there. Each place would get some shared areas. Think living room, kitchen, and dining space! They’d also have a bathroom.
The building has offices on one side. Garages sit right behind it. This is in Moor Park Industrial Centre.
Batchworth Community Council has concerns. They think this sets a bad example. The applicant uses a social housing reason.
A report went to the councilors. It advises them to say no. The report calls the housing “sub-standard.” It also says this change reduces business space. This area is meant for employment.
Someone wanted to build flats there before. They retracted it after objections last summer. It was housing in an industrial zone.
