Hey, the Brighton Main Line has weekend work. Expect some train trouble! Engineers are doing upgrades.

The work spans between East Croydon and Victoria. Train services are changing. Expect longer trips.

Saturday means fewer Southern trains to Victoria. Many will go to London Bridge instead. Trains to Victoria skip Battersea Park. Sunday cancels trains between East Croydon and Victoria. Buses replace trains between Croydon and Clapham Junction.

Thameslink and Southern still run to Gatwick from London Bridge. The Gatwick Express isn’t running either.

Network Rail says closures are inconvenient. They only do it in the summer, if needed. The Brighton line is key for the south coast. Winter brings vital maintenance closures. These happen on parts of the Brighton Main Line. They’ll use the closures to work. Track, power, signals, and structures get checked. This keeps things safe for riders.
