Ken Skates updates on 20mph exemptions. Councils decide which roads revert to 30mph after review.

Wrexham Council worried about safety. They might change 52 roads back to 30 mph, and will discuss it on February 11th. A report shows people want those roads back.
David Bithell defended the council, stating that safety risks slow the process. Increasing speed limits needs care.
Skates praised the councils in North East Wales. He said they consulted people early and are doing things their own way because they know their areas well.
Safety must come first, he said, getting it right is very important because we don’t want to change it again later. Wrexham and other councils must decide well.
Skates talked about how councils consult; Flintshire consults on roads one by one, while Wrexham considers all roads at once. The Welsh Government gave money for these changes. Councils will make the changes locally. They’ve worked hard in North East Wales.
