New restaurants like Wendy’s and Taouk are opening in Watford, enhancing the town centre’s food options.

Wendy’s is making a comeback in Watford! They are taking over the old Chipotle on High Street and plan to open as early as next month. Their signs say “coming March 2025”, and that they use fresh British beef.
Chipotle closed in January after two and a half years. Wendy’s is known for big portions, like triple cheeseburgers.
Taouk, a Lebanese place, opened last month on The Parade. They call their chef a “secret weapon”. The menu has breakfast and lunch, featuring kebabs, burgers, and Lebanese food. Manakeesh and Shawarmas are made right there. Reviews say it is a welcome addition to the town.
Watford Food Court is coming to The Parade. It will replace The Twin Flame. Signs say it will be a unique international food experience, and they are seeking vendors to supply the food. The opening date is unknown; signs say “coming soon”. The Twin Flame bar and grill used to be there.
A new supermarket might open in an old Co-op building. LSA Retail Telscombe Ltd applied for permission to sell alcohol from 8 AM to 10 PM, Monday to Saturday, and from 12 PM to 6 PM on Sundays. The supermarket is at Gade House in The Parade. Alli Bhavan sells Asian, African, and Eastern European foods, as well as food for niche markets sourced from British farms. A three-month remodel is happening.
Two town center places are expanding into the market. Jardin’s co-owner plans a street food stall that should open next month. It will have fusion cuisine street food, including Mexican, Indian, and Asian food. They hope it brings more customers to their main restaurant.
Café De Lisboa’s team plans a new Portuguese place, Frango De Lisboa, which will offer full Portuguese meals. The opening was planned for earlier in March but got delayed.
