Wepre Park parkrun Draws Impressive Crowd in Connahs Quay

Yesterday, 148 people ran and walked at Wepre Park. This took place in Connah’s Quay. The weekly 5k trail run is popular and local residents really enjoy it a lot.

Twenty-five marshals helped this week and they make the park run possible. A spokesperson thanked the volunteers on social media because they help every week.

Many young volunteers do an amazing job and gain good experience and life skills. Roles include giving tokens and managing barcodes. They even create artwork for the event.

Lydia Brown ran her 100th parkrun, she brought cakes to celebrate it. The team at Wepre congratulated Lydia because it was quite an achievement.

The team will celebrate St David’s Day next week and this will happen on March 1. Anyone can join a park run, all you have to do is register beforehand and registration is completely free so don’t worry.

Runs start at 9am on Saturdays and people meet at Wepre Drive. You can visit the parkrun website: parkrun.org.uk/wepre or you can email them: wepre@parkrun.com.
