Halsteads Farm in West Bradford is getting a shop. They submitted plans last November. The council gave their approval earlier in the month.

The shop will be a small timber cabin. It will include an outdoor seating area. A small parking area is planned nearby.

The shop will sell farm products. They will use self-service machines for this. One machine will dispense milkshakes, while another offers frozen beef and lamb. The meat comes from animals reared on the farm.

You can buy reusable glass bottles there for future milkshake refills. They will also have recyclable cups available. Lids and straws will be recyclable.

Machines will have self-service payment options. You can pay with a card. Contactless payment will also be accepted.

The council received a planning statement stating that farms need to diversify. This helps farmers supplement their incomes, improving their viability.

The shop site is near West Bradford, a short walk from the village, and only 100m from pavements and lights.

Many footpaths surround the location. It sits opposite the village hall, with the recreation ground right there. This farm diversification project will run alongside the existing farm.

Ribble Valley Council approved the shop plans. Construction must start within three years. Other rules and conditions apply.
