New Overground line linking West Hampstead to Hounslow via HS2 interchange planned with six trains per hour.

TfL plans six Overground trains each hour. The trains run between Hendon and Hounslow. The report didn’t say how many start at West Hampstead. Four trains will run the full length of the line. Two trains will go between Hendon and a new station.
This station is called Old Oak Common Lane. People could change for HS2 at Old Oak Common. Also, Mildmay line trains might use this new station, said TfL. The project’s cost is £800 million, using 2023 prices.
They hope to open it in 2034. They are talking to boroughs and the government about funding. The consultation on the plans should be late this year. Hounslow Council already approved £714,000 for the project.
Mayor Sadiq Khan said they will lobby the government. He wants more homes, jobs, and growth. The final route is still being decided. Current plans show trains stopping at fifteen stations.
The route will use current platforms sometimes. New stations are needed at four locations. These locations are Neasden, Harlesden, Old Oak Common, and Lionel Road. Design work should finish next summer.
This would let them apply to start work in 2028. Other stations could include Cricklewood and Brent Cross West. Acton Central, South Acton, Kew Bridge, and Brentford could be added. Syon Lane and Isleworth might also be stops. TfL and Network Rail work with the West London Alliance. They will help get the new Overground route built.
