Ex-PC Oliver Dines sentenced for misusing his position and mistreating two women. West Mercia Police release statement.

The police force spoke out today, stating that such behavior is unacceptable and they don’t want officers like him.
The IOPC learned of Dines’ actions back in 2020 after West Mercia Police told them about it. He was fired in 2022 for a different reason.
Dines was based at Hereford police station. He pleaded guilty in court; he is 33 years old and broke a law about police power.
The IOPC investigated the corruption claims and then filed charges against him. Two other charges are now inactive.
Following a court hearing yesterday, a court sentenced Dines to fifteen months in jail. The Deputy Chief Constable spoke out, saying Dines abused the trust placed in him. The police will find others who act wrongly, as they expect high standards from officers.
