Warrington Council considers closing Westbrook Library due to budget cuts. Residents are encouraged to contact the council.

Alan Guthrie says the Parish helps by paying £5,000 yearly. He also mentioned the council does not own that library. He explained Westbrook’s library is the only one in Warrington that they don’t own; therefore, that decision.
Alan told folks to contact the council if they disagree. Write to borough councillors and Steven Broomhead, the leader. He added that the library helps local groups, and St Phillip’s School uses the library too, you know. You should share your concerns if you have them.
He thinks it is important to speak up. It is your library, so help save it. The Warrington Guardian said library cuts were possible. The next budget for 2025-26 is £208.045 million. They need to save £30.4 million. The Council will vote on this budget on Monday.
They want to close the Stockton Heath recycling center. That would save around £60,000 a year. They might reduce street bins. That’s about £65,000 in annual savings. Cutting library services could save £270,000. They also aim to cut energy costs. This could save £2 million each year.
