Council allocates £2M to combat graffiti after 4,141 incidents, focusing on rapid removal and prevention.

Veolia, the waste contractor, already has teams working seven days a week in the borough. These teams remove graffiti.
Offensive graffiti gets cleaned super fast, within 12 hours after reporting. Other graffiti gets cleaned within three days.
These teams handle many jobs weekly, completing about 80 to 100 cleaning jobs. This totals around 400 jobs each month. Last year, Westminster had lots of reports; 4,141 graffiti cases were reported, with Soho, St James’s, and the West End having the most.
The council wants cleaner streets. They’re adding a special cleaning van with a generator and water tank for graffiti removal, and they also plan deep cleaning of pavements.
Cllr Max Sullivan spoke about the commitment. Westminster wants to keep streets safe and clean, and the new vehicle helps them act faster. Report graffiti on public property, the council asks.
