Residents of Seaview House enjoyed a visit to Wick RNLI, learning about its history, operations, and even trying out the lifeboat.

Last year, Allan and Mhairi tried a big, unsupported rowing trip around Great Britain.
The residents from Seaview House learned about RNLI crews. They even got to try the lifeboat out, making it a hands-on experience.
Wick’s RNLI helps save lives at sea. Allan and Mhairi talked about RNLI’s history and how it works today. Residents heard stories about bravery, while learning how modern technology helps with rescues; and how volunteers give lots of time.
The care home is making a cookbook, created by residents and staff. They will sell the book in June at the harbor fun day, and the money will help the RNLI.
Caz McLauchlan leads “Cooking with Caz”, cooking lessons for residents. The book has old recipes, some from as far back as 1925.
The cookbook mixes old and new, featuring meals and sweet treats. It shows everyone’s food likes from both residents and staff.
Barchester Healthcare runs Seaview House, providing nursing care, respite stays, and short stays. They also offer dementia care on Broadhaven Road.
