A woman was convicted of murdering her husband and concealing his body at their Canterbury home after a police investigation.

Investigators think the body was first in a cupboard, after which someone moved it to the garden. Maureen Rickards told their daughter that Mr. Rickard went to Saudi Arabia for work. The daughter was worried about the messages and asked if her mom was using his phone.
Rickards then claimed he died by suicide in Saudi Arabia. However, police had no record of him leaving the country. Police began a search after he was reported missing on July 5th by his step-daughter. Rickards was arrested six days later at home.
They found Mr. Rickard with many injuries, including five stab wounds to his chest. Other injuries happened weeks before his death, some around ten days prior. Police think Rickards killed her husband around June 9th.
Gardeners visited the home on June 26th. Rickards told them to leave cut grass under bushes, where his body was later found. The prosecution explained the evidence, showing that she lied and they believe she abused him. The abuse grew worse before his death, and she claimed his injuries came from a car crash.
Rickards will get her sentence next month.
