A new fish and chip shop will replace the former Rain Fish & Grill in Church Road, Ashford. Opening in two months!
Rain Fish & Grill was there for almost ten years. Last month, they suddenly closed down. The takeaway used to be Tim’s Fish Bar. Customers were sad about Rain Fish & Grill closing.
Now, someone new is taking over the spot. His name is Emin Yalcin. He’ll open Willesborough Fish and Chips. Emin is a little nervous, but excited too.
He is 29 years old. It is his first business here. He had two others in Tenterden before. He sold those to be nearer his family.
He wants to open in about two months. Emin thinks Willesborough is a nice area. Emin used to own Del’s Fish Bar. He also had Lux Kebab in Tenterden.
He had Batman Grill in Hastings too. Emin wants to make great fish and chips. He won’t sell kebabs or pizza. Just traditional fish and chips will be on the menu.
The old shop has been emptied. He’s fixing it up now. He might add some chairs inside later. He plans to open daily except Sunday at noon. He may open earlier after testing times.
Another takeaway is nearby, called Yummy. That’s a Chinese place that opened last year. It took over from Kong Wah.
