Wilsden’s development plan, crafted over nine years, faces a crucial referendum on March 27th. Residents decide its future.

Bradford Council approved the referendum in January as the final part of the process. Villagers will vote on the plan this Thursday, March 27.
If most people vote yes, Bradford Council will adopt the plan and it will become part of their planning policy. The council will then use it for local planning decisions, and developers can use it for their proposals.
Councillor Peter Allison stated the plan lets locals decide about development and allows them to ensure better housing options. The plan covers various aspects including housing, design, local history, nature, shops, and transportation.
Both Councillor Allison and Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw are encouraging people to vote. Councillor Ross-Shaw also thanked those who helped make the plan, while Councillor Allison hopes people vote, believing the plan reflects local concerns.
Details are available online at Bradford’s website, and paper copies can be viewed at Wilsden Post Office. Further locations to check include Britannia House, City Library, or Bingley Library.
