The Avenue in Wilton will close northbound for three weeks starting February 17 for essential gas main repairs.

They’ll close the northbound lane on The Avenue. Temporary lights will control traffic. You can’t drive north on The Avenue then, from the roundabout towards Fairview Road. The southbound lane will stay open.
To reach Fairview Road, drive south first and follow the detour signs they posted. Bus routes going north on The Avenue change; check with your bus company for updates.
Bin collection days stay the same, mostly. Your provider will tell you if anything changes. They need to fix the gas pipes, replacing old metal with new plastic to stop future gas leaks there.
The Wilton Park & Ride stays open during construction. Cars from the South or West can use the back entrance. That entrance links to the A36 by Kingsway Industrial Estate.
Regular buses cannot go to Wilton Park & Ride now. A special shuttle bus will run instead. It connects the Park & Ride to the Rail Station and also goes to New Canal in the City Centre.
SGN knows it’s annoying for everyone and promise to finish quickly and safely. The Salisbury Reds buses get rerouted; numbers PR3, 2A, R10, and 603 are all affected.
