Two residents get £1000 fines for fly tipping incidents near Salisbury and Wilton after council investigations.

The council checked waste at that site. It’s between Amesbury and Salisbury. They found receipts with an Amesbury address. The receipts linked the waste to a person.
The officers spoke with that person. He said he moved out recently. He had a disagreement with his roommate. Officers found the ex-roommate at the site around the fly-tipping time. He got a £1,000 fine.
Leaving waste when you move counts as commercial, so landlords clearing a house must dispose of it right. It must be done in a lawful way.
A Salisbury woman also received a fine. They found dumped waste in Wilton, on Burcombe Lane. Evidence there linked her to the trash.
She said she drove to recycling center. The bags fell over in her car. She stopped to fix them on Burcombe Lane. She forgot some bags, she claimed. She got a fine of £1,000.
The people fined won’t be named, as these fines do not equal a conviction in court.
The council wants to stop fly-tipping in Wiltshire. They aim to keep the scenery beautiful. Illegal dumping will result in prosecution, they said.
Fly-tippers can get a penalty notice. That is a £1,000 fixed fine. They could face court and unlimited fines. They could even get imprisoned.
Report illegal dumping with MyWilts. The officers will then investigate. Information leading to a fine gets a reward. You could get £200 in gift vouchers.
