Joseph Lwimba received a driving ban of 26 months and a fine after admitting to driving under the influence in Chester.

The court wanted a report about him. His probation officer spoke to him. Lwimba was honest about what happened. He explained the story. He went to a pub the night before where a band was playing and he played pool. He had no plans to drink alcohol that night; he started with cola.
Then, he played pool with some strangers and began drinking lager with them between 9 PM and 2 AM. Someone even gave him a lager. Then, a woman took it away because she worried about his safety. After this, Lwimba drove home.
Someone called 999 to report him, saying his driving was swerving. In court, Joseph Lwimba apologized and said he regrets driving when drunk. His probation officer spoke well of him, noting he came to the UK in April 2024 to join his wife using a spousal visa.
He has a full-time job working as a cleaner and has never been in trouble before. The court punished Joseph Lwimba. They fined him £615. He also must pay a £246 surcharge, plus £85 in court costs. His driving ban is for 26 months. He can shorten his ban if he completes a course by the end of 2025, after which his ban will be reduced.
