The jury continues to deliberate if David Newton is guilty of murdering his neighbor Una Crown in Wisbech in 2013.

The jury consists of twelve people. They have deliberated for fourteen hours, trying to agree on a verdict for Newton, whose trial has lasted four weeks so far. Newton says he didn’t murder Mrs. Crown.
Una Crown was stabbed multiple times with the attacker targeting her neck and chest. Then, her body was set on fire. This happened twelve years ago.
The jury told the court they haven’t agreed and left for the day to rest. Deliberations will start again on Monday.
Una Crown was a retired postmistress. Her nephew found her dead in January 2013 after she was last seen shopping before her death.
New forensic evidence led to Newton’s charge. Male DNA matching Newton was found under her nails. Police arrested and released him twice in 2013, initially not suspecting foul play.
Una Crown lived in Magazine Land. The trial is still ongoing.
