House of Grace in Witham receives £1,250 grant from local council for vital roof repairs to support their homeless shelter.

The charity helps homeless people. Volunteers started House of Grace, working with Churches Together in Witham. They offer a four-bedroom house, providing a place for homeless people to live.
The house is rented from Green Pastures, a Christian group based in Southport. The house opened in May of this year, but the building needed fixes. The roof, in particular, required a lot of work.
The money will fix the roof. The grant comes from Braintree Council. It helps local groups like this, enabling councillors to support community projects that benefit area residents.
Toby Williams, representing Witham Central, spoke about the award. He said the charity helps those needing it most, giving people a home and support. This aids in getting back on track.
Emmelia Van Der Walt, a trustee, said the grant will help complete the roof repair itself. They raised money for the project too, ensuring it can be completed soon.
