The Witham Hub celebrates five years, announcing a new branch in Braintree. Expansion includes a community supermarket.

Kids enjoyed craft activities at the party. They offered free cake with hot drinks, and a Lego competition also took place. The charity announced a new hub in Braintree.
Tina Townsend is the founder, and she also chairs the trustee board. She described their journey as a rollercoaster, noting that the Covid pandemic caused major issues early on.
They moved to new premises, which was difficult. The Hub brings people together in Witham and supports those with special needs. They also help people who face modern challenges.
The Hub won six High Sheriff awards, with five awards specifically for their youth group. Fourteen volunteers got paid jobs elsewhere. They helped 300,000 people directly.
The Hub kept 200 tonnes of food from landfills, which is about 444,444 meals. Volunteers completed nearly 8,000 collections. The Hub is proud of its achievements.
The anniversary included a new announcement: The Hub will open a branch in Braintree. It will be at 67 High Street.
Townsend is very happy about this expansion, and she spent nine months negotiating the lease. They will prepare the space in the next few weeks.
The Braintree location offers a community supermarket. They plan to add more services later. Townsend said Braintree should watch for updates.
