Witney Child Abuser Gets 15 Years for Historic Sexual Assault Charges

Vicky Butler, age 32, faced trial last year. The trial occurred at Oxford Crown Court. He was charged with sexual assault. The victims were two young girls. The incidents happened in Witney. Butler was in his early twenties then.

He denied all charges against him. These charges included four counts of assault. The victims were under 13. Two counts involved penetration. Later, a jury found him guilty.

One month later, he appeared in court again. He faced a new charge. It was sexual activity with a 13-year-old. The incidents occurred in 2013. He pleaded guilty to this charge. The activity happened on at least three occasions.

These offenses involved three different people. Their names cannot be reported. The incidents happened when they were five to 13 years old. Judge Nigel Daly sentenced Butler on Monday. The sentence was for 15 years in prison.

During sentencing, Judge Daly addressed Butler. He explained Butler had a problem. This problem involved his sexual behavior. The behavior targeted young girls. All three girls were vulnerable at the time. Butler exploited their vulnerability for his own sexual gratification.

Judge Daly considered the timing. The offenses occurred a decade earlier. Butler had not committed similar crimes since then. He also considered a reference on Butler’s behalf. The Judge said Butler behaved terribly toward the girls, ruining their lives.
