A woman was sexually assaulted near Nottingham Castle. A 20 year old man is in custody as police seek a BMW and its driver.
The assault happened early Thursday morning around 1 AM on Lenton Road. The woman was walking in Nottingham when a man approached her.
He pushed her down and sexually assaulted her.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man, who remains in police custody now. Detective Inspector Milner spoke about it, saying this incident upset the woman.
Police worked hard to learn what occurred, and their investigation led them to a car, possibly a BMW, that drove by during the assault. The driver gave the victim a ride home.
Detectives are asking him to step forward, as he might have seen part of the assault and could have important information. He is not a suspect, authorities say.
