A Polish woman who claimed to be Madeleine McCann was arrested in the UK for allegedly stalking Madeleine’s parents.

Julia Wandelt’s representative confirmed the arrest. Leicester Police arrested her and another woman. This happened on Wednesday night. Surjit Singh Clair called the allegation “nonsense.” They were traveling to Cardiff, where her friend lived.
Police said they arrested two women at Bristol Airport. Police are investigating the incident. A Polish woman, 23, and a Welsh woman, 60, were arrested. They suspect them of stalking and both are in custody.
David Wells, her lawyer, represents Julia. He declined further comment regarding the case. Madeleine McCann vanished in 2007 in Portugal from a holiday flat.
Madeleine was three years old when she disappeared in Praia da Luz. Her parents dined nearby with friends at the time. The disappearance has sparked global interest.
Christian Brueckner is a prime suspect in the case. Portuguese police named him a suspect in 2022. German prosecutors stated no charges were expected soon.
Julia became suspicious at age 20 and had memory gaps about her childhood. She searched online for missing people and found Madeleine’s case. She thought she resembled the missing child.
