A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a van in New Cross. Police investigate possible attempted murder.
A man then went to court. He faces charges of causing great harm and of driving dangerously which caused injury. Police arrested another man, who is 46. They suspect him of trying to murder someone. He got bail while they investigate more.
A detective said they think it was on purpose. He said they need to know what led up to it, and what happened after.
Police and paramedics went to the scene. They quickly rushed the injured woman to the hospital. Thankfully, her injuries aren’t fatal right now, though doctors think she will have lasting problems.
The car involved didn’t stop after it happened. Police found the vehicle later. The detective asked if anyone was in the area on Milton Court Road around 2 PM that day.
